Birribi is a live-in
rehabilitation program for young people aged 16 to 20 who are learning
to manage their alcohol and drug problems. during their stay at the unit,
young people are asked to participate in a 6 step program, to help them
overcome, in an holistic approach, their substance use issues.
Birribi is set on a 15 Acre property in Eltham
in the northern suburbs of Melbourne and can accommodate up to 15 young
people. There is a central building, pictured above, and 3 smaller accommodation
units and an activity building housing a gym, art studies and other rooms.
We are situated close to public transport and all amenities.
The main house is a large mud brick home.
"Collier House", as it is known, is protected by the National
Trust, as it is a fine example of the work by the well known architect
Alistair Knox. It is a large, open plan house where the residents gather
for most of the day. |
