Learning Philosophy
YSAS’s education programs have been designed with the needs of the adult learner in mind. All information is presented in an interactive style so that participants are actively engaged in the learning process.
YSAS has adopted a partnership approach to learning. The role of the trainer/assessor is one of facilitator and resource person.
YSAS embraces adult learning principles which recognise the wealth of personal experience and knowledge that participants bring with them to training. Accordingly, activities are designed to draw on this lived experience.
Staff use a variety of training approaches, methods and learning strategies to accommodate participants’ different learning styles.
All educational materials meet the requirements of accredited training, including an assessment strategy that confirms a participant’s achievement of competency.
