The following position(s) are currently available at YSAS:

Lead Tenant - Wilum Program

YSAS operates a youth supported accommodation program providing housing, support and ongoing therapeutic programs to young people 16-20 years who have experienced disruption to their lives resulting from substance abuse.  Young people entering the program will have completed physical withdrawal and be actively addressing their drug issues.

This position is responsible for the smooth running of a household as a co-tenant.  Two young people will be living in the property with you.  The position involves acting as a role model, providing informal personal support to young people, and monitoring the household environment.  The position will involve strong links with the Wilum Program Coordinator and Outreach Workers (Case Managers), fostering mutually supportive relationships.

The person must have:

• Experience in relating to young people who have problematic alcohol and drug use
• Ability to relate to young people
• Enjoyment of the company of young people
• Good communication skills and ability to act as a positive role model to residents
