Programs and Services

YSAS provides a range of programs and services for young people aged 12 to 21 years who are experiencing significant problems related to their alcohol and/or other drug use.

Current programs and services include:

  • YSASline 24-hour toll free telephone information and referral service
  • Community Programs (including youth outreach)
  • Home based withdrawal services
  • Intensive residential support
  • Residential rehabilitation
  • Koori Youth Alcohol & Drug Healing Service
  • Day programs
  • Primary Health Service
  • Supported accommodation
  • Specialist services and programs
  • The Research and Education Unit providing services to the health and welfare sector and community groups.
YSAS’s practice is evidence-based, drawing on extensive practice wisdom and national and international research.

YSAS recognises that young people may experience a number of problems simultaneously. Youth alcohol and other drug workers are trained and experienced in dealing with a range of complex problems including alcohol and drugs, legal matters, primary and mental health, homelessness, sexual abuse and family breakdown.
