YSAS provides community-based and residential withdrawal
services to young people from 7 locations in metropolitan and regional
Victoria.
Home-Based Withdrawal
YSAS nursing and allied health staff provide support to young people
contemplating and undergoing withdrawal while remaining in the community.
The YSAS home-based withdrawal staff provide medical care, support
and supervision to the young person and their family as well as identifying
and addressing primary health needs.
Residential Withdrawal
YSAS residential withdrawal units provide young people with 'time
out' and intensive support through withdrawal from dependent drug
use. The units are staffed to provide intensive support for young
people seeking withdrawal and/or respite from dependent alcohol and
drug use. Residential withdrawal services include medical care, therapeutic
and recreational activities.
YSAS residential withdrawal services are located in:
- Fitzroy (an 8 bed unit) (Statewide catchment)
- Glen Iris (a 4 bed unit) (eastern metro and Gippsland catchment)
- Geelong (a 4 bed unit) (Barwon South Western catchment)
Access to the Units is voluntary and made via local
outreach, alcohol and drug services or through YSASline:
