YSAS provides community-based and residential withdrawal services to young people from 7 locations in metropolitan and regional Victoria.

Home-Based Withdrawal
YSAS nursing and allied health staff provide support to young people contemplating and undergoing withdrawal while remaining in the community. The YSAS home-based withdrawal staff provide medical care, support and supervision to the young person and their family as well as identifying and addressing primary health needs.

Residential Withdrawal
YSAS residential withdrawal units provide young people with 'time out' and intensive support through withdrawal from dependent drug use. The units are staffed to provide intensive support for young people seeking withdrawal and/or respite from dependent alcohol and drug use. Residential withdrawal services include medical care, therapeutic and recreational activities.

YSAS residential withdrawal services are located in:

  • Fitzroy (an 8 bed unit) (Statewide catchment)
  • Glen Iris (a 4 bed unit) (eastern metro and Gippsland catchment)
  • Geelong (a 4 bed unit) (Barwon South Western catchment)

Access to the Units is voluntary and made via local outreach, alcohol and drug services or through YSASline:
