Youth Support + Advocacy Service (YSAS) is Australia’s largest and most comprehensive, youth specific community service organisation that enables young people experiencing serious disadvantage to access the resources and support they require to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
YSAS provides a range of health and welfare services that enable young people and families to overcome problems associated with substance use, mental health and behaviours such as offending and deliberate self-harm. We provide practical support and evidence based clinical services for young people experiencing serious problems, but also intervene as early as possible with those at risk to prevent problems from escalating and becoming entrenched.
The headspace Collingwood model brings together key organisations experienced in the delivery of primary care, mental health, alcohol and drug services, social welfare and vocational education for young people. The headspace Collingwood consortium comprises membership from Austin Health, Jesuit Social Services, North West Melbourne PHN, Mind Australia, St Vincent’s Hospital (Melbourne) Ltd and Co Health. This strategic alliance aims to establish a community of collaborative youth services improving access for young people aged 12-25 years at risk of or suffering from mental health and alcohol and other drug issues. headspace Collingwood is co-located a range of other services and private practitioners (allied health professionals and GP’s) who provide in-reach sessions.
